In 1960 James Villiers was the anaesthesiologist responsible to provide anaesthesia to a 21 year old young man having suffered a compound leg fracture. Due to James Villiers skills and attentiveness this young man then became the first person being known to survive an MH episode.
Michael Denborough was then a rellow in internal medicine and he did work-up this case to finally publish it in the Lancet. Michael Denborough then dedicated a substantial part of his career to malignant hyperthermia.

Re-Design of the EMHG website

Welcome to the new EMHG website !

The EMHG decided to include a RYR1 mutation database into the EMHG website. This was only possible after changing the complete website structure and could only be completed due to a grant from the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNF). Feel free to explore the new genetic section of the website. The functionality is not yet complete but will be continuously expanded.

As you might have noticed, this new version of the website is not yet complete. We will finish the login-part of the site as soon as possible. For the time being there is no possibility to login with your username, but the documents, which are only accessible for members are not yet online. Both will be corrected within the next couple of days. You will then receive an email with your username (same as before) and a new password (unfortunately it was impossible to transfer the old passowords). Thank you for your understanding. regards Thierry
